"Sometimes there is no point looking for the answer to the questions you have, you may never find it.. just know that things happen for a reason"

Letter from Banta Singh of Punjab to Mr. Bill Gates of Microsoft

Subject: Problems with my new computer

Dear Mr. Bill Gates,

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1. There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop' button. We request you to check this.

2. One doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I find only 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

3. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this 'find' button, but was unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.

4. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoft sentence', so when you will provide that?

5. I bought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon which shows 'My Computer': when you will povide the remaining items?

6. It is surprising that windows says 'MY Pictures' but there is not even a single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.

7. There is 'MICROSOFT OFFICE' what about 'MICROSOFT HOME' since I use the PC at home only.

8. You provided 'My Recent Documents'. When you will provide 'My Past Documents'?

9. You provide 'My Network Places'. For God sake please do not provide 'My Secret Places'. I do not want to let my wife know where I go after my office hours.

Regards,
Banta

戏如人生,人生入戏????

Was watching the show "Honour and Passion". The show is about Army. Well, feel that some parts are just bullshitting, or glamorised. Makes me think of how media affects the mindset of people. For example during the 1990s, after the movie "古惑仔" there's a surge of youngsters trying to imitate Ekin Cheng in the show and behave like Bengs and Sengs.

Media indeed has a huge impact on our lives. But does it depict a real picture of society? Or does the producers censor some true but ugly facts from the show?

Everyone tends to look outside when they already have the things inside. We admire others, want to be like others, but what about ourselves?

Have u ever ask urself what's ur good points? Not many people can list out more than 3 of their good points, but they can list out more than 10 of their bad points. I asked a fren what's her good point and she told me she never think about that. She only think about her bad points. What's so bad about us that we need to be constantly reminded of it when we have no intention to correct it? Why not we focus on the good points instead?

A lot of things happened these days... This is going to be a "Rojak" entry:

1) I wanted to move out. My aim to move out of my house in 1 to 2 years time. Why? Friction. Sometimes to maintain a relationship, it's better to distant from it. I dun think I can stay in a house where nobody supports my job. I need people to encourage me at times. But instead of supporting me, or at least keep quiet if they dun support me, they discourage me, and always asking me to find a job. What's wrong with this job? Just that I dun work 8 to 5 doesn't mean it's not good! I know the set back of this job is that it's not stable, but I am Happy here! Who dare to touch their heart and tell me tat they are very happy in their current job? Less than 10%! I am confident about it!

This is the stupid thing about our society. Why do we weigh things based on money? Yes, without money u can't survive. I used to earn a bit last time, but I'm not at all happy. I can afford to buy a car at the age of 23, I should be happy. I earn slightly more than my peers of the same age, I should be happy. But I feel like a money making zombie. I lost my goals. I feel empty. I try to siam arrows: the reason-why do it? It's not going to increase my pay! And if u take the arrow but do badly, your promotion will be affected. Why take the risk when I can just sit back and relax and get my pay month after month, getting my promotion when the time is due.

2) The best way to teach a person things is perhaps the most harsh way. Everyone aims for a comfortable life, a comfortable job. But what can we learn from it? I used to "siam" a lot of things when I'm in my previous job. Everytime when I'm on duty, I just pray that nothing happens. One of my fren, on the other hand, got "punished" and did so much duty that he knows everything at the back of his hand. He knows how to open the safe in less than 13 seconds, in which I even had a problem remember it. I had a comfortable life then, but in fact I know nothing.

The very same way, how do u know the taste of success unless you have failed? The person who learn the most thing is not the person who is always successful but the person who becomes successful after umpteen failures. And the best teacher is not the prince who is born with a silver spoon but a beggar who rose to become rich.
