There's this 80/20 theory, which states that 80% of people in the world owns 20% of the wealth and the remaining 20% of the people owns 80% of the wealth. Bill Gates, Jay Abrahams, Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins, Sim Wong Hoo, Adam Khoo are the latter few who are already millionaires. What makes them so different from the rest? The mindset!

Common people are lazy creatures, always giving excuses for their own failure. I told my dad about them who started with nothing and become rich and he say that it's because they are lucky. Instead of learning how he became rich or why is he so "lucky", common people just put a full stop to it. They accept "their own fate". They had given up on themselves, on everything else. But when they go casino they gamble like nobody's business, refusing to believe that they are not lucky...

Sometimes I pity some people, who always make it as though the sky is falling.. As though everything in the world is against them. Even when u praise them for doing a good job, they'll say u're just being sarcastic.. Hai.. Losers.. How and when will they be happy?

Have been observing people and things around these days. Studying the mindset, the way of thinking. Vicious cycle... I think it's very true. In order to break from it takes great amount of courage and effort. Generally speaking, when u see the parents, more or less u'll know what the kids will be when they grow up. Because the parents instill the wrong mindset into the kids.

Things have changed, everything changed except the mindset of common people. Gone r the days when studying hard will ensure that u will be rich or get a stable job. There's no job security these days. The recent recession has woken some people up, when they go to office and found that they have been retrenched, after working in that company for 30 over years. Dun get me wrong. Studying is important. But the way, or the focus of the study is wrong.

Many people have the mindset that the higher the education qualification a person has, the richer they will be. It is absolutely wrong! Our education system trains us to be good employees. Employees are always at the chopping board, waiting to be chopped. Always at the mercy of the company. In this recession, I'm sure some company, although still doing well, take recession as a good excuse to retrench some workers to cut cost. And who are the ultimate victim?

Before the full blown recession, that is before Lehman went bankrupt, a lot of investors had already cashed out the money. Which is to say that those who closely monitor this event had already known of this, and preparing for recession. And sad to say, it's the common people that are still oblivious to it and still spending as if nothing happen. Well, the full bloen effect is not here yet. Next year 1st or 2nd quarter, there'll be a lot of jobless people around.

If I were to earn $3000 a month as an employee, how long would I need to become a millionaire? Taking into account of increment of 5% a year, and saving EVERYTHING that I earn, I would need about 18 years to save up my 1st million.

However, to save everything is impossible as we need to eat and travel. Let's say that we spend about half of the money we earn on expenditure like food, entertainment, transport, insurance, household, handphone etc, we need abt 36 years to save up 1 million dollars. And plus the inflation, it may take longer than that.

And with an economy these days, workers get retrenched very easily. They're constantly at the chopping board of the company, waiting in queue to get laid off.

I dun wan to be an average person who takes an average pay and still need to put up with the bosses. I dun see that it's fair if I work so hard for the company and get laid off at the end of the day, on pretext of recession or the company is not doing well. Everytime a company lay off workers or downsize, it is actually at an advantage to the company but a disadvantage to the employees. I heard my dad saying that the directors are getting more bonus and the staff aren't getting any on pretext that the company is not earning. The world is never fair. The average is always at the losing end. I dun want to be average! I want to be at the top, deciding who to lay off! I must not be average!

Our academic education teaches us to be good employees. It teaches us to be average. It never teach us how to be rich, because our teachers and lecturers aren't rich themselves. It never teaches us how to invest and make our money work for us. Our system lacks financial education.

Attended a seminar and the speaker ask us to imagine if we have 2 million dollars today and what would we do with it. I'm sure a lot of people would want to buy car, buy condo. But for me I would want my 2 million to become 4 million, 6 million or even 8 million.

A survey was conducted and it has shown that 1% of those aged 65 and above is financially free. 4% is financially independent. 20% dead by age 65. And the remaining 75%, although still alive, hope that they are dead as they have spent all their money! Which group do u want to be?

Sometimes I really wonder how people think. Was talking to my cousin and I told him that normally I dun drive out of hougang and he say that even if my car is parked at the car park I'm still losing money as the value depreciates, so I might as well drive. True, the value depreciates whether I drove the car out or not. If I seldom drive, my "expenses" is only the depreciating value, but if I drive out, I have to cover for my depreciating cost of car, my petrol and parking fees. Their mindset is like "Since it's depreciating, I might as well drive as much as I can to make full use of it." Isn't it illogical?

I was a victim of such loser thots last year. As people say, once ur car reaches 5 years, the value depreciates a lot. And that is why a lot of people change car before the 5th year, so do I. Somehow regretted changing car. If I had not changed car, I would have saved a hefty sum now as the previous car is already fully paid out. Just because I changed car, I am $900 poorer every month and my liabilitoes extend by another 7 years. Too late for regrets. Now can only minimise the car expenses since I can't do away completely.

In this world, right or wrong is all arbituary. The society that is in immediate contact with us decides for us which is right, which is wrong. In some society, cannibalism is considered right but in most society, it's wrong. Such things are more prominent in war. Will u kill disarmed soldiers, or will u let them live, and tagging on ur limited food ration ur soldiers need.

Sometimes, we may not feel good for something that we have done. But as long as we feel it is right, it should be done that way. Recently I've done something that I dun feel good and I had been thinking if I have done the right thing. However, I feel that I did no wrong. If things must be done in a harsh way, it must be done. The other party may hate me now, but next time she'll know it's for her own good. One who can't see far, can't go far.

"With great power comes great responsibilities"- a quote from the movie Spiderman. I agree to this statement. Is it the expectation that we put on ourselves or the expectation of others on those who have great power that cause the burden on us?

Watched the movie "Yamato", which is about how a japanese warship fight to its end during the 2nd World War. The commanders and all those onboard knew that it's a suicide mission but still had to go ahead. Before the D day, the men were crying out loud for their families, their loved ones as they knew that they can't make it back. But the officers, although they felt the same way, could not cry out in front of their men.

Even in the society, the "superior" one normally do not whine as much on the surface. Parents seldom whine in front of their children the same way as teacher dun whine in front of the students. A simple whining or complain may have a lot more implications, be it the morale issue or distrust between the different levels.

How can u find perfection if u cant see perfection? Can u find perfection by feeling perfection? And how we feel perfection? Can we trust what we r feeling? Wat causes feelings other than hormones in the body, the endorphin in the brain?
